RPG Life Sciences and Seniority launch Covid-19 risk monitoring tool for senior citizens

MUMBAI: RPG Life Sciences and Seniority, a senior citizens e-commerce platform that is an RPG Group company, have launched “SafeSeniors”, an app designed to help early identification of Covid 19 risk among the elderly and senior citizens.

The tool has been developed in consultation with the leading experts in the areas of infectious diseases, community medicine, clinical pharmacology and Covid-19 management.

“If the epidemic has to be controlled effectively data has to be tracked on daily basis. We can then flag it off to relevant authorities so that citizens can be helped,” said Yugal Sikri, managing director, RPG Life Sciences.

SafeSeniors is aimed at advance risk detection so that senior citizens can get help at the right time. Though the tool is primarily aimed at helping the senior citizens, it is developed in a way that it is age agnostic and can maintain profile for the entire family.

“We wanted to reach out to the most vulnerable section where risk (of fatality) is very high. Keeping senior citizens safe is the main motivation behind developing the predictive tool,” said Ayush Agrawal, co-founder, Seniority. “We are looking at 100 million downloads,” he said.

The SafeSeniors app requires the senior citizens or their family members to enter their vital parameters, pre-existing medical conditions, travel and social exposure history and key symptoms such as fever, dry cough etc. on a daily basis. With this data the app will monitor the health of the senior citizen and their family members on a progressive basis.

Equipped with a robust algorithm and dynamic tech capabilities, the app can analyze millions of data on a real-time basis and alerts the senior citizens and their dear ones of the Covid 19 risk levels and seek adequate treatment before the disease spirals out of control.

“We have reached out to the governments of Maharashtra and Kerala as well as representatives of some of the northern states,” said Sikri.

The unique feature about this monitoring tool is that it gathers information and tracks the progress over a period of time from the onset of symptom over 17 days.

“Available in 12 languages, the solution will help governments and healthcare authorities to reach masses, allocate medical resources and reduce the burden on already stretched healthcare infrastructure and authorities, doctors and paramedics.”
